“For Endings are Not Failures”

Sermon given by Pastor Robb on November 1, 2026.

Continues the fall What Loves Looks Like in Low Places sermon series.

Covers Ecclesiastes 9:1-10 and Mark 14:1-11.

We are likely familiar with the Ecclesiastical wisdom that “there is a season for everything under the sun,” but it can also be painful and challenging to experience many of those seasons, and we can be tempted to view the waning of one season to be its failure rather than its time for a different expression. Even Jesus recognized a season for his death and a season for his ministry some would interpret as a failure, and he encouraged his disciples to be people that honor ebbs and flows, loss and struggles, in a community finding God’s presence through all circumstances. How can we learn a similar perspective for our lives, even in those things we find most challenging or daunting, and thus find salvation life in all seasons?
